As a list developer and data compiler we obtain raw data from various public and proprietary sources monthly to update our lists. The advantage to our customers equals greatly increased accuracy and deliverability which means more sales.
All of our lists are Move Update Compliant. In November 2008 the U. S. Post Office instituted a Move Update requirement. Every list mailed must be checked against the NCOA (National Change of Address) within 95 days of mailing. What this does is identify persons that have moved or are no longer able to have mail forwarded. This process greatly reduces undeliverable mail and saves you money.
There are HUGE differences as to how lists are compiled and how often they are updated. There are also big differences as to who is providing a list.
List Broker vs. List Developer/Data Compiler.
A list broker is a company that simply resells somebody else’s lists. A list developer/compiler is a company that BUILDS the list from original raw data sources. The benefit to the customer is that the compiler can provide a much more accurate and customized list. Also, the freshness of the data is much better. Fresher data means more of your list goes to qualified buyers.
National List Broker vs. Local Compiler.
We have all moved and had the previous owner’s mail get delivered to us for weeks or months. Or signed up for a drawing with a different middle initial and then watch how much mail you get with that new name. These are examples of old or incorrect data. When you call the National Mailing List companies that manage the entire country, how often do they update with fresh raw data for YOUR local area? The answer is every couple of years. In between time they bounce one list against another and occasionally against the Post Office. If your name and address appears in all those places you must really be there. Wrong. However a Local Compiler that builds lists from scratch will have the freshest, most accurate data available. That means higher response rates and more sales.
