“Move update” refers to methods for making sure that the business or individual you are mailing to is still there! Verifying that your customers or prospects are still at the address you have saves you lot’s of money. Nationally over 17% of the population move. Many times clients you don’t interact with regularly won’t inform you directly they have moved. When a person or business moves to a new address, they file a change-of-address notice with the Post Office. Those forms are compiled into a National Change of Address (NCOA) database. By checking your list against the NCOA database, you can tell if a client has moved and if so, you now have the new address. Then we can correct their address if they are still a viable client or delete the address. This saves you printing, postage and labor costs.
If you have a direct mail campaign and qualify for postal discounts the Move-Update is a requirement.
Most mail houses will simply re-direct your mail to the new address. This is not always the best choice.
If for example you are a pool refinisher, re-directing your mail piece to a new address that does not have a pool or is out of state is a waste. We consult with every client and determine the best course of action before you print. Saving you money!
